Our Learn to Skate program is designed to introduce skating in a safe and enjoyable environment. Our focus is learning through play and imagination. Whether its hockey, figure skating, recreational skating, or ringette, our Learn to Skate program will be a good introduction to get young skaters on their way.
Our Learn to Skate 1 program is a 30 minute non-parented class for children ages 2-5 who have not had any time on skates. It is designed to introduce children tot he ice and help them become comfortable on skates. This program teaches children the basics of how to get up when they fall down, how to move forward, basic backward movement and how to stop. Music, toys and games are used to help children feel ready to take the next step.
Once a participant has gained confidence and shown skill in gliding on each foot, stopping and getting up from a down position, they can move on to the Learn to Skate 2 program
Our Intro to Hockey Program (ITH) is designed to introduce the game of hockey in an enjoyable and safe environment. Players participate in full equipment and receive instructed skill training from one of our professional staff. Our focus is creating a foundation for good hockey basics; skating, puck handling, shooting and passing. Learning the basics correctly from an early age provides the solid foundation that all hockey fundamentals are based upon.
The Hockey Development Program will continue to work on building the skills required as players start to make the jump into games. This program will offer players more opportunity to build on fundamentals through skating development, skill development, drills and games.
